New release from Tokyo based Plantcell. This is their 3rd full length release following on form 2018's Landscape debut and 2023's Nature Reserve.
Dreamy guitars, unobtrusive vocals... plenty to loose yourself in here. Similar sound and theme to previous releases but now evolved and perfected- Masaki Sato (guitar) is an old hand of the shoegaze guitar sound- taking it to new levels but still melodic and beautiful to hear. Eriko's (guitar/vocals) vocals are there.... and not there... more an instrumental part of the band than an upfront frontperson new drummer Rikiya and the dual bass of Kazzuya (Bass) and Nao(Piccolo bass) all combine within the whole landscape.
"Speed Games at Daytona Beach" may fit awkwardly within their natural themes but is a sure fire hit that will draw you in on the first listen... with a hint of "Sue is Fine" that will bring a smile to anyone who hears it.
We have 8 new songs here, 2 others have been released as singles last year (Summer on Route 134 and Princess of Wales Roses) as well as a new version of "Spirit who Dwells" originally on the Landscape album. With 2 Bonus tracks on the disc where "Evergreen Road" and "Wind and Wing" are revisited and remixed.
Initial CD's also come with a download code of the instrumental versions as well as a Botanical pin badge (while stocks last).
